The Greek form of Onesimus
ONESIMUS (masculine) Biblical Latin
Latinized form of the Greek name Ονησιμος (Onesimos), which meant "beneficial,profitable".
Biblical history: Onesimus was an escaped slave of Philemon who met Saint Paul while in prison and was converted by him. Paul sent him back to his master, persuading Philemon to take him back because he is now a transformed man.
